ThE ConCepTual Age

An old rigid civilization is reluctantly dying. Something new, open, free and exciting is waking up.
Logical and precise, left-brain thinking gave us the Information Age. Now comes the Conceptual Age - ruled by artistry, empathy, and emotion. The total shift!!!

The BraIn SubStiTue!!!

Yup people what i mean by this topic is as same as the sugar substitute!!!Last century, machines proved they could replace human muscle. This century, technologies are proving they can outperform human left brains - they can execute sequential, reductive, computational work better, faster, and more accurately than even those with the highest IQ.(Just ask chess grandmaster Vishwanathan Anand.)
Let me now take some few cases where our IQ is being questioned,Consider jobs in financial services. Stockbrokers who merely execute transactions are history. Online trading services and market makers do such work far more efficiently. The brokers who survived have shifted from routine order-takers to less easily replaceable advisers, who can understand a client's broader financial objectives.
Let me now give a real time example check http://completecase.com/ where you can get an uncontested divorce for $199.00, which is a substitute for a practising lawyer Meanwhile, the Web is cracking the information monopoly that has long been the source of many lawyers' high income. These are instead hiring a lawyer for 10 hours to finish a contract, we can fill out the form ourselves and hire a lawyer for just an hour to look it over.
Simultaneously computer programmers may feel the pinch.Few years back anybody with even routine skills could get a job as a programmer. That isn't true anymore. The routine functions like maintenance, testing are increasingly being turned over to machines.
The result: As the work gets offloaded, we have to master different aptitudes, relying more on creativity than competence. The Revenge Of The Right Brain
Now at this moment we Indians are surely at the Americans disposal, let me give an example, if a Indian accountant is earning rs20000 which could hardly mean a sum of $500 for the Americans & suddenly he doesn't swipe the job,a software like turbo tax will,Now that computers can emulate left-hemisphere skills.Only thing we'll have to rely ever more on our right hemispheres.

ChEap CoLLaRed DreAMs

Few issues today speak more controversy than development. Those bunch of white-collar workers in India and China are scaring the devil out of software jockeys across North America and Europe.Once i heard from my friend that 1 in 9 jobs in the US information technology industry will move overseas by 2010. And it's not just tech work.In the due course of my industrial Visit to one of these office parks i saw chartered accountants preparing American tax returns, lawyers researching American lawsuits, and lab techinicians reading scans for US hospitals.
I pesonally feel that the reality behind this scenario is, the words "OUTSOURCING","BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE","ASSOCIATES",are a bit overhyped in short term & misinterpreted in long term.As our nation continue to mint millions of the so called extremely capable knowledge workers, the professional & the personal lives of people in here will change dramatically, resulting the peaking inflation rate. One main reason for this INDIAN craze in the american market is as simple as it goes,if maintaining, chart reading, and code writing can be done for a lot less here and delivered to clients instantly via fiber-optic cable, thats where the work will land (a quite obvious answer).
There is no reason for us to held our heads high at this moment!!!still these indians are considered as the narrow minded left-brain workers who are good at completing certain jobs such as basic computer coding, accounting, legal research, and financial analysis.Where do we differ at this moment is that we do lack in the programmers who can design entire systems, accountants who serve as life planners, and bankers expert more in the nuances of Excel than in the art of the deal. Now these foreigners can get left-brain work cheaper, so they could do right-brain work better. Thus we are graded as the cheap souls at their disposal. So from now onwards shall we define our dreams as CheAP CollAred DreaMs!!!:-)

FaCiNg The ReAlity-Part 2

Lets now gear up to face the reality as we are pressing our noses to the grindstone,"The world changed",The future no longer belongs to people who can reason with computer-like logic, speed, and precision. It belongs to a different kind of person with a different kind of mind,Today - amid the uncertainties of an economy people are scratching their heads to meet their day to day needs .We have long known that a line cleaves our brains into two regions - the left and right hemispheres. But in the last 10 years, thanks in part to advances in the technology we have begun to identify more precisely how the two sides divide responsibilities. The left hemisphere handles sequence, literalness, and analysis. The right hemisphere, meanwhile, takes care of context, emotional expression, and synthesis.with its 100 billion cells The two hemispheres work in concert, and we enlist both sides for nearly everything we do. But the structure can help explain the The two hemispheres work in concert, and we enlist both sides for nearly everything we do.The abilities that led to success in school, work, and business were characteristic of the left hemisphere.Today, those capabilities are still necessary. But they're no longer sufficient. In a world upended by outsourcing, deluged with data, and choked with choices, the abilities that matter most are now closer in spirit to the specialties of the right hemisphere - artistry, empathy, seeing the big picture, and pursuing the transcendent. The Information Age we all prepared for is ending. Rising in its place is what I call the Conceptual Age, an era in which mastery of abilities that we've often overlooked and undervalued marks the fault line between who gets ahead and who falls behind. To some of you, this shift from the logical, sequential abilities of the Information Age to an economy built on the inventive, empathic abilities of the Conceptual Age - sounds "WOW".But at the same time i can see few people around me telling "PROVE IT"!OK. I will convince you, I'll explain the reasons for this shift by my observations, reading and not to miss my mistakes &this effect scales tilting in favor of right brain-style thinking.lets watch it further!!!! end of part2
